Contact BATF at: (404) 679-5040 or 1-800-366-5423. This is the national licensing center in Atlanta. You can obtain the application from any local office (located in major cities) by calling directory assistance (411) and asking for the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms. I have found them to be very polite, and helpful, almost friendly. It would seem only the top level (politically appointed) employees have an axe to grind with gunowners. Be sure to carefully complete the form and check zoning laws as you must initial this part of the form attesting to compliance with local laws. This is an easy felony to prosecute if you make a mistake. Also, you need to talk, face to face if possible, with the Chief Law Enforcement Officer (CLEO) in your jurisdiction and obtain his approval (tacit or otherwise). They are usually not a problem if you present yourself as a responsible individual. Good luck--the license will open a whole new world to you if you buy a lot of stuff. You will be surprised how cheap guys are when you order stuff for them. Obey all laws (become very knowledgeable about this) and keep perfect records. Pitfalls abound but it is very much worthwhile to have a license. Best, Mike
