anyone else sign up? beta pushed back and hopefully will be by the end of the year. I doubt I will get an invite since the site says invites are for people that bought a lot of packs. I only bought some bank slots started playing again with the new league. trying explosive arrow build and a cyclone build. Spin to win baby not doing much winning yet though |

theres a que for logging in when the servers come back up. I was 5000 when I shut the ps 5 off. good thing I still want to finish my ultra hard run on horizon zero dawn before starting this. server issues should be solved in a few days then I can figure out what build to use |

It definitely is different, though. Not far enough in to give an opinion on crafting and character development. |

My suggestion at this point is to NOT pay a penny for this game. It is indeed slow, clunky, and a grind. What sucks is the boss fights are retardedly drawn out. Like it's just a Dark Souls style dodge-fest, except the fucking boss attacks track you 90 degrees off where they're aiming, so it's not like you're executing a choreographed dance. Shit will just one shit you. Oh, and some bosses spawn adds AFTER they die, and if the adds kill you, you lose all the loot from the boss drop. The other loot in the level remains, but not the boss loot. I just alt-F4ed the game and texted my friend that I'm done with this shit. Ran into a boss that just filled the whole room with poison and disappeared. That's it. That's it's special move. Just poison every inch and leave. I bet there's some bullshit mechanic like "when your life potion is empty, the boss comes back." I won't bother logging in that toon to find out. Edit: Also, this isn't an Early Access issue. The fundamental game design is flawed, and the fan base is broken up into the "get gud" crowd and the filthy casuals. They could have put the "fuck you, one shot" bosses as the optional side ventures, but they've gatekept the story progression behind frustrating, bullshit fights. |

D4 was great story. Game play/balance was, and still is, shit. The class building system is a joke. The bosses in that game and their "mechanics" are a joke. The seasons tend to suck. Overall bleh. I was a casual in PoE1. Started a few toons, think I completed the campaign exactly once in one of the seasons. over all game play was good though, the systems were meh. PoE2 is meh on story. I'm playing a monk. Level 29 currently. Don't think any of the bosses took me more than 7 or 8 tries so far up through Act 2. If I don't kill it in the first try, it usually takes me 2-3 to learn the mechanics and clear. Think the worst one for me was King of the Mists. Balbala was a close 2nd. Bosses and game play are great IMO. This coming from a melee that hasn't even hit my peak yet on abilities. So yeah, perspectives are skewed on this. But so far the game is great IMO, me and my crew of friends are all loving it. They are playing versions of necro (witches), and love the pet systems. It's not an ez mode, just roll your face on the keyboard and win type of game though. Sometimes you gota adjust your build, abilities, or gear for some bosses. PoE1 is one of the few games that has seen steady growth over its life span. It released in 2013, and saw it's peak concurrent player count only 5 months ago. I think they know what they are doing, so I expect good things for PoE2. I concur on not spending money on the game unless you really like PoE1 or ARPGs in general. Wait for the full launch when its free to play with all of the minor balance and bug fixes are addressed, and the 6 remaining classes are added. |

I'm going to have to log back in to get the new style acct name. made 23 today. monk did start real slow but once I got a level 5 uncut gem at the end of act 1 to make the ice triple swing attack so was able to move faster until just now. shit hits harder so a lot more dodging |

| Cleared the Act 2 boss last night. Took me 3 tries going in totally blind. I had a rougher time dealing with the trash of the level before than the boss. Seems mobs of that map have some attacks that completely ignore evasion, so my monk got his ass beat. Had to do a slower crawl using ranged attacks more. |
|
I checked out of EA after an hour trying to do the Trial of Ascendency. Instead of the Labyrinth, it's now using the fucked up Sanctum mechanics, a seasonal mechanic that I disliked immensely in POE1, but could avoid. And yeah, it's way grindier than POE1 right now. And I've been playing POE since 2014, when it was at its grindiest. On the plus side, there's a lot of polish, game is stable, and it'll be the same FTP model as before. |

I had a lot of trouble surviving until act 2 when I got my first tier 5 uncut gem for ice strike as of this morning ice strike is tier 11 +2 from gear ranged attacks and elemental are brutal to me I need way better gear with resists |

Because of the same issue, and a seeming reliance on ranged attacks with the monk, I switched to the ranger. 1/2 way through Act 2 so far, just grabbed my Ascendency. So far I like the class. |

Just got into the quest line where you rebuild a horn in ActII. When do you get the "cast on" spell skill? Gear is also killing me right now. Still rocking low level stuff because I cannot get anything better. RNG is not being kind to me. I think I am around level 26 or 27. |
|
I'm fairly sure most cast on skills are active buffs. So you will need uncut spirit gems, and the correct amount of spirit to maintain those buffs, and then slotting some support gems and spells into it will raise the spirit cost. Outside of gear and skill/ascendancy points, you will have 30 spirit in act 1, and 30 more in act 3 as long as you cleared those bosses. |

Hate to say it but I bailed on the sorcerer. I was at the end of ActII. Started a mercenary. So much better. They need to bump up the useful gear drops. In D4 you always felt you were making progress and getting stronger. In PoE2 it's the opposite. You have to either waste very hard to get resources to try and improve your gear or you buy it. Either of which is fine if money and crafting mats were not so difficult to get. |
| Getting into cruel (future act 4), the drops start to get better. At least for crafting. I agree that they need to drop crafting gems more often and earlier. I had no problems rolling blues to see if I could get a decent roll, but going to rare, I almost never had enough crafting materials. And then the Exalts end up being a major trading resource, so you are usually better off saving those to trade for upgrades over crafting them. |

Man, the trade system is just terrible. If you put something up for trade you have to stop whatever it is you’re doing in order to go make the trade. Just really damn inconvenient as opposed to just having it transfer automatically. Also endgame needs some work. It’s just not that fun right now. Between waystone drop rates and progression to unlocks, it’s just…meh Overall though, damn good game for a EA. I look forward to the final product but as for now my 76 Merc is kinda dead in the water due to mapping so

The mercenary build is so much more fun than the sorc was. Started as a grenade build and swapped over to lightning around level 15. Went from doing well to destroying stuff. The grenade build was fun but it seems to not really come into it's own until you can get level 9 spell gems and level 2 skill gems. The lightning is excellent from the get go and only gets better once you start getting the higher gems. At the start of Act2 I got lucky and found a crossbow with the 1-20 lightning damage explicit. Then got super lucky and rolled 2-24 lightning damage and 7-14 physical damage. Then a 49% physical damage modifier! |

I am couch coop playing 2 characters on my account through the story. the monk can smoke most everything but dies sometimes. I'm getting close to the end of act 5. the true testing comes with maps since you only get 1 life in maps I'm thinking 2 boxing will allow me to resurrect the dead character. will find out when I finish act 6. |

level 83 now and working through maps. its a beast doing 10 tier 1-5 then 8 tier 6-10 and 6 11-15 that's 120 maps to get to the final boss then hoping for enough of each tier to complete that tier to hit the next any of you guys still playing> was toying with trying to finish monster hunter world but damn I don't remember how to play |

Maybe I didn’t do it as correctly as I should have but pretty much run out of good stones. And then there’s the grind OP referred to, along with the punishment at that tier |

I'm in a holding pattern. Only level 52, so not even close to the end game yet, but I've played enough to like the bones of the game. The general flow of the end game right now doesn't appear to be something that I would entirely enjoy. |
