[ARCHIVED THREAD] - is it wrong... (Page 1 of 4)

Is it wrong to turn in people who don't register their cars? I'm in the Air Force and I was looking at a parking lot on base today and noticed that roughly 50% of cars didn't have up to date registration. I paid $200 to register my truck last week, and I feel fucking ripped off that these cheapskate airmen are getting away with it. I'm going to make an anonymous tip to security force and turn these cheap fucks in. By the way none of the plates were from this state. Serving your country doesn't exempt you from the rules.
If you think I'm wrong, let me know... and send me 200 fucking dollars |
| You're mad and now you're going out of your way to screw your brothers in arms? NCO's should be doing quarterly POV inspections to catch shit like this. Maybe you should suggest to your chain of command that they do there fucking job, before fucking your buddies with an cowardly anonymous tip. |
| Be proud you are living your life in the manner that you feel is correct, and take care of you and yours. MYOB and let others live how they want. They're the ones who have to deal with the results of thier choices. The world doesn't need any more pimps for the state. |

Thank God I served in the Marines!
Your not doing your Brothers any favors, huh? Just my humble opinion but you may be in the wrong line of work. Guess you didn't expect this thread to take this turn. Hessian-1
(and the use of the word "fucking" doesn't really help your case) |

The MYOB in this bunch never ceases to amaze me. What, are you a bunch of fucking jailbirds, or something? Look up honor, or integrity in the dictionary and see if it applies to you. If you're not sure, or sure it doesn't, then God help us. Like the old country song said, if you don't stand for something, you don't stand for anything. |

I may be wrong, but I thought that some states gave you a break on your vehicle registration if you were active duty out of state. Like I said, I may be wrong, but I think I remember hearing that somewhere. You are right, many states do, some don't. I don't understand why the OP wants to turn in his military brothers in arms. |

In the army you have to keep up to date car insurance and registration because we have POV privately owned vehicle inspections. |

In the army you have to keep up to date car insurance and registration because we have POV privately owned vehicle inspections. That would be my guess, at least on some of them. I've had vehicle registrations expire many times while deployed. I'm single so it's not as if I'll get the renewal notice in the mail (the PO holds it for me). In states with emissions tests you can't renew it online anyway so you're fucked and have to wait until you get home. MYOB. |

BTW don't look for my car.

Look into it, it was such an important concept to the founders of this country that "mind your own business" almost replaced "in God we trust" on our currency. Take a lesson. Some things are none of your damn business. |

Typically military personal aren't required to register their car in the state that they are assigned to. They are expected to keep a current registration though. Of course it could be that a lot of them have the car registered at their home of record, and the current decals are sitting on a counter their waiting on them to come home and pick them up.
Really, it isn't your business, it is between them, the local police, and their chain of command. |

Quoted: Why isn't security doing more in the first place? Most AFB's now have contract security at the gates. You get what you pay for. Also you have to take in consideration there are 50 different states with various ways of registration. Typically it's easy to recognize the license plate registration of the state the AFB is in, but when gate guards start seeing cars from everywhere else they don't have time to sit there and try and figure out if the registration is valid or expired when there's a line of cars all wanting to come in, and they have to do their random checks. |
