[ARCHIVED THREAD] - ipod touch help

Ladies and Gents,

I have a ipod touch that I have had for 3 years I want to upgrade from my OS software 2.2.1 to the 4.2. Apple's website says to plug it into itunes and follow the instructions. I dont get any options to upgrade and when I search in Itunes nothing comes up. Can ya'll give me a hand. How do I upgrade?

When I went into I tunes and clicked on my Ipod on the left hand side, it was on the first page that popped up and I just clicked upgrade on that page and away it went.

Your ipod can not run 4.2 its too old, the best it can do is 3 something

Well it wont let me do 3 either. What makes one to old as according to the apple website it shouldnt be.
