Got Discovery on while I websurf and they're running an episode of "Naked and Afraid".
I'm once again amazed that supposed "primitive survivalists" don't know how to use a freaking firestarter - just sawing away with their knife on the flint into a pile of loose tinder, and nary a magnesium shaving anywhere in sight. Don't even get me started on the ones who try with a fireboard or bow or hand drill, and keep blaming their failures on the materials around them not being like the ones they're used to, or practiced with at home... |
| I try a different form of fire making every time I BBQ. I've got pretty good at it. I don't have any twigs or small branches at my disposal, which leads me to use larger pieces, but placed in a different manner. I get a larger and stronger fire using less resources. |
