I was shooting in a local match last week and my EOTECH 512 that I have had about a year or so stopped working.  First thing I did was put in new batteries thinking that they might be dead no luck.  So I shot the stage with irons.  Man did I suck good thing that this was the last stage.  When I got home I messed with it still no luck so I shelved it for a few days.  I tried to e mail EOTECH no luck they never answered.  I tried to call several times no answer.  Anyone have this issue with repairs with EOTECH.  Yesterday I deiced to get it out again and see what I could find.  I stretched both springs out just a little and guess what the thing works again yeaaaa

I am running it on a Daewoo k2 so I am wondering anyone ever have that issue that the springs compress too much,  I know the woo has a lot more recoil impulse with the full length gas rod and more moving weight.

I guess the issues I have are

1 springs compressing from use

2 poor cstmr services from EOTECH

Has anyone else have this type of experience

Thanks

Btw I am not trying to bad mouth EOTECH I still like their products and will get another when I need it

Keep trying to contact them, they will fix it

Yes it happens/has happened, poor design, hence the sideways batteries in the new guns.

Should have bought an Aimpoint to begin with.

What, he's the one who posted this in GD.

Dirty contacts, even though they look clean. Denatured Alcohol, Red Heet bottle or equiv.

They will fix it. They fixed mine and it was out of warranty by a month.

I sent an e-mail to their customer service regarding and RA, and got a reply back in about three days.

A few questions from them and I sent it off.

The same thing as yours, the springs were weak on the + side of the battery compartment.

I have had zero issues with it since that time.

I think the comment was more directed at the aimpoint guys will come out and tell you, "you should have bought an aimpoint." which you should have. But this is GD, so it is expected. Where as in the etch forums the smart asses are less likely to be smartasses.

Well, my Aimpoint took a HUGE shit a while back, so don't feel bad about your Eotech. I like both, with the Eotech best.

back around 06-07 i sent my 512 in due to the same symtoms. Eotech said it was something internally that sprang loose so i guess they re-potted the part in place. but they did do everything at no charge.

I had the same thing happen to one of mine..They did not reply to my email either.I called them and they gave a return authorization immediately and I had a brand new one about 2 weeks later, free of charge. They even included new batteries and a factory box  He said they had a problem with the online return authorization page,I was glad they had an actual live person you could talk to,that's getting rare nowadays.

Good to know they have good CS.

Oh, and Aimpoints are too slow to get on target with that single little dot.
