There are mail forwarding service companies designed for people who live on their own boats. There's one in FL. Basically for a fee they give you a local physical mailing address. They even tell you how to register in that city as a resident.
Say I accepted a contracting gig in nastystan. Could I sign up for the mail forwarding service, then give Raytheon my FL address, and not pay state taxes? I suppose I would have to surrender my AL driving license? Would this be tax evasion or avoidance? |

Cant you just file taxes as a non-resident for the time you are away? This: You pay less taxes as an ex-pat than as a Florida resident, just saying. im talking about state taxes. AL has them. FL doesnt. Im already aware of the approx 90k deduction I get for being out of the country for at least 30days in a calendar year, which is what I believe you are talking about |
