edited - question answered ------------------------------------------------------------------ flea market find is this some type of prison shank or do you think it's a plains indian spear head for hunting buffalo? |

righhttt.. you think someone in prison , somehow got a knife on the "inside?" then wrapped cloth on the handle, and shanked someone with it... then took it back out of prison? Looks like someone made a knife to look like a shank. or something was wrong with the original handle and they wrapped it in cloth because they are smart

| neither, if i had to guess i'd say it was something the seller threw together at home one night. I honestly don't see anything that large being used in prison just due to the concealability issues. it's also too clean and newish looking to be an indian hunters knife. Looks to me to be the tip of a spear you could buy at a big knife store or the tip of an replica double edge sword. |

That blade is too perfectly knife-like to be a prison shank. I've seen some pretty mean/good ones, but if I found that one I'd crap my pants! Anyhow, the best ones I've found werent even made of metal, and they do get by the detectors..(sharpened plastic toilet brush handle, etc) That's why I favor a good patdown over any type of metal detector. Did I just hijack or go off topic? If so, sorry! |
