I bought that movie and watched it for the first time today...... ARFCOM made me do it.
I liked it.  Now I just need to stock up on more anti-zombie ammo.

I just watched it last night. Did you see the new version with the TV news anchor and Andy's video camera highlights.

I liked it, but they did make it creepy. Andy's Video Diary did explain why he didn't shoot all the zombies. I think I still would have anyways.

The first time I saw the movie was at my friends house. My friend is a mortician and is a pretty damn morbid fellow. Being such a person, he rents a house in an old district of town;all around his place are BIG, old cemetarys and old vacant mansions belonging to the historical society. There is no one living for a few city blocks besides us. Due to our alcohol consumption, I had left my Sig P226 locked in the glove box of my truck(this place has low, if any "real" crime) parked across the brick street .
After watching those movies one starts getting paranoid. Well, some highschool game/rally was ending and groups of people were randomly lingering through the neighbor before going home. Did I mention it's like 1:00a.m. and the street lights don't work? I wanted to go get the Sig in case some of the youths broke in my ford the would'nt get a free gun. To get to my truck I would have to walk 40 yards out the door right past, if not through, a group of 8 teens. I wanted to go out, but the mind plays funny tricks on you when your half drunk at one in the morning coming off of 6 hours of zombie movies.

How could you shoot them all when two showed up for everyone you put down. In a city with hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of people, drawin down on every zombie is not realistic.

Shooting all the zombies would be a good thing for other survivors located through out the town.

Draw attention away from them. Plus ammo wasn't his problem, food was.

Even when people are dying from a biblical plague there is nothing like a good lessy scene

Well, his difficulty procuring food was proportional to the number of zombies outside. Besides at best he may have had, what, 40 thousand rounds all together?

I could see him using a 10/22 to plink some zombies because it's a pretty quiet gun, at least compared to the centerfire bolt action he was shooting in the movie.

What he really needed was a good wrist rocket type slingshot & lots of marbles/ball bearings.
If Steve can whack one with a golf ball to the head a slingshot fired marble to the forhead should work also.
As long as you're in a secure location where they can't get to you low powered weapons like a .22lr, slingshot or bow can really reduce the zombie population without attracting more of them.
A good long spear would even work if the zombies can't reach your position.  Stab'em in the head!

I'm still waiting for "Red Dawn of the Dead Heat" (an ARFCOM production) to hit the theaters.
