Question using WOLF in an AR. I have read where some have used it and others warn against it. Who is right? |
| I've had a couple problems using Wolf ammo in my AR's. One time I was using Wolf black box 62 grain ammo and it would not cycle my bolt, it was underpowered. After using Wolf ammo then using brass cased ammo I had a stuck case in my chamber. It normally works just fine though. |

It's fine. Just dirty stuff and don't shoot brass after shooting wolf in the same range trip. This... shoot a bunch of Wolf and then switching to brass without cleaning the chamber = extraction problems. Why? steel case ammo does not expand as much and thus does not seal the chamber as well. This allows the chamber to be coated with a bit of residue, tightening up the tolerances. Continuing to shoot steel case does not matter. However, switch to brass and expands more. The tighter, dirty chamber might hold onto the brass and prevent proper ejection. |
