Question using WOLF in an AR. I have read where some have used it and others warn against it. Who is right?

Spend the $3 for a box and try it.

My buddies co-worker used Wolf in his AR.

They cover this (too often) in the technical forums.

It's fine for the price.

Its fine as in it will not harm your rifle. It will be inaccurate, dirty, and if your rifle has any particular flaws it may bring them out, but it not hurt you or the rifle.

Shot some Wolf two weeks ago and it worked just fine in my ARs.

Can I shoot 5.56 and .223 in my AR?

Wolf will almost certainly break your extractor and clog your ejection port.

Just clean your chamber before running brass after steel.

Where are you finding it for $3 a box these days? I'll be all over it at that price!

I've had a couple problems using Wolf ammo in my AR's.  One time I was using Wolf black box 62 grain ammo and it would not cycle my bolt, it was underpowered.  After using Wolf ammo then using brass cased ammo I had a stuck case in my chamber.  It normally works just fine though.

Wait until they come out with Three Wolf.

Test to check if ammo is good for an AR.

1) Buy box.
2) Load and pull trigger. Does it go bang and load the next round? If yes, it's good.

It's fine. Just dirty stuff and don't shoot brass after shooting wolf in the same range trip.

If your AR will not run it, sell the AR.  Your go to guns need to be able to run less than optimum ammo because in a pinch you use what is on hand.

This... shoot a bunch of Wolf and then switching to brass without cleaning the chamber = extraction problems.

Why?

steel case ammo does not expand as much and thus does not seal the chamber as well.  This allows the chamber to be coated with a bit of residue, tightening up the tolerances.  Continuing to shoot steel case does not matter.  However, switch to brass and expands more.  The tighter, dirty chamber might hold onto the brass and prevent proper ejection.

You've been here for nine years and don't know the answer to this, or how to search for it???

Wolf is fine.  Keep calm and carry on.
