I am sick of buying meat from stores and it being spoiled..Last time I bought pork chops we ended up with Chinese death cramps.  Now tonight, I was planning on making a nice chicken dinner for my hubbys b-day and the chicken smells like rotten assholes (or what I would suspect rotten assholes would smell like).  Anyway no Salmonella for us tonight...  Why is meat spoiling so easily?  Sell by date wasn't even till the 31st on the chicken.  It pisses me off to no end!!!    Oh well I guess it is tuna salad sandwiches tonight!

You're returning the rotten meat and getting your money back, right?  Once they get a whiff, they tend to shove cash at you to get you to stop.  I get all my money back when I get bad milk or meat.

Shop cheap, get cheap crap.

Basic common sense.

Well not that Sams is "cheap" but you buy in bulk so it costs less.  I mean instead of paying $17 for hamburger at Walmart I can get it for $12 at Sams.  $12 for hamburger meat is still a lot of money.

I shop at food city, you have to either cook it that night or put it in the freezer.

A day or so in the fridge and it needs to be thrown out.

I try not ot buy it unless I know it's going to get cooked that night.

Your fault for shopping at Sam's or Wal-mart.  You get what you pay for.

Guess that explains all of the other times I have gotten spoiled meat, eggs, milk, etc. from the high priced stores too then.

Seems lately the quality of foods has become shitty no matter where you shop.  At least here they have.

Because Wally World uses carbon monoxide to keep the meat fresh LOOKING far after the typical cut of meat would turn brown and be tossed out.

Go to a butcher or small shop if you want good meat. The crap from wally world is cut elsewhere, gassed with CO, packaged, and shipped all over the US. Fresh it AIN'T.

Just take it back.   I bought some nuts that were terrible and returned them.  No problem.  It is a bit of a PITA to take it back, but you get your money back, and it will show on some printout that it was returned that may get somebody to fix the problem.  The best rib eyes I've had came from Sam's Club.

If you buy meat from ANY place, you should either use it soon or freeze it.  Doesn't really matter where it comes from. (The exception being if you're aging the meat in your fridge, or if you're making something like a sauerbraten).  Sam's meat is just fine.  I don't know if they do anything to it to keep it "fresh looking" or anything like that.  I've bought plenty of meat there, and either A) use it right away or B) freeze it right away.

Now I'll buy good, aged steaks every now and again but for regular old stuff, Sam's offers good stuff for a decent price.

Learn to hunt or have hubby go out and shoot some deer. He probably has a gun so all you need do if find the deer. Then you can have good meat.

Frige temp correct?

Yeah half of the time everything in it freezes, so I know the temp isn't too high.  I think it is just Sams club where we get the meat from.

Go to Publix

Husband knows how to hunt well, has killed and eaten many deer starting at an early age...I however, have never killed or eaten wild game.  He has not been able to get me to try it yet.  I like to shoot for fun, just not to hunt unless I would absolutely have to.

If hubby is hunting around farming country deer are as tasty as beef. Find a neighbor or friend who hunts and ask them if you can try some. Deer like cows chew their cud, have multiple stomachs.
