i want a 9mm px4 pistol that shares the same mags and ammo as a cx4. from my understanding, the px4 uses cougar mags, but the px4 ones are just longer. is this correct? will px4 magazines fit in a cx4 made for cougar mags?

can a 92 mag version of the cx4 be converted to a cougar mag version?

There is a 9mm model of CX4 that will take Cougar magazines.

I tried to get one, so that I could convert it to 92/96 mags (swap the magazine adapter insert $14 and tweak the mag catch), but the dealer couldn't get one.  So I found a used 9mm CX4 on GunBroker.

The CX4 that takes Cougar mags is quite a bit cheaper, I guess because they're not quite as popular yet.  My dealer's price to me would have been $549... but his source ran out.

I don't have a PX4 or 92/96, so I wanted the CX4 that takes 92 mags, as higher capacity mags are readily available.

Could be a great combo, tho, if there were higher cap magazines available.  I haven't looked into it... are there 15, 20, 30 rd mags for the Cougar/PX4?

Yes, there are larger 9mm mags.  I bought some parts here but don't remember if he had mags. I have seen the mags after doing a search. If you see hi cap mag for  a .40 cal  Storm please IM me.

You can make M9 mags fit in a couger by cutting a new hole for the mag catch.
