The biscuits suck!

I always get the meatloaf.

They also have a chicken and rice that's out of this world but its seasonal and you cant get it all the time.

The fried chicken is amazing.

Stewarts root beer

I've liked it the few times I've been.  It's not good enough to justify a 45min-1hr wait though.

[#7]
The food is good but it's so damn loud in there that I've quit going. The walls must not have any insulation for noise reduction.

The food's good but the headache you get from the noise ain't worth it.

The roast beef dinner is good.

Their Sunday chicken dinner is the bomb...2 fried bonless breasts and 3 sides.

Breakfast wise...they've got a sampler plate that came with:
2 eggs any style
ham (choice of country or sweet)
bacon
grits
biscuits and gravy
hashbrown casserole
cinnamon crusted biscuits
fried apples

all for 7.99 I believe...WIN!

I also like the pancakes with the pecans inside.

I love the Barrel.

THIS!!!!!

Holiday Breakfast Sampler

Enjoy two eggs*, cooked to order, hickory-smoked bacon, a sausage patty and your choice of country ham or sugar-cured ham with hashbrown casserole, fried apples and cinnamon biscuits. Also served with sawmill gravy, grits and buttermilk biscuits.

I have actually had their Thanksgiving dinner before too and it was very good.

This right here!

That apple pie thing with ice cream is also great.

Haven't been in a long time, but I've always enjoyed the food there.

I have been happy with just about everything I ever ate there.

Gotta love fried catfish, eggs and grits for breakfast.

[#28]
The few times I've been there I always see a big table (6-8 people) and they are all 400+ lbs. I figure that can't be a good indicator about the food.
11/21/2009 1:10:51 PM EDT
[#29]
I haven't eaten at a Cracker Barrel in years, but the food was always too salty for my tastes.

I like it when I'm on a road-trip. It's definately not a destination restaurant for me. But on the highway , they just look so inviting.

This.

I enjoy the food when I get it as take-out.  Between the sea of lard stuffing their guts, the noise, the stink of the place, and the sickening trashiness of their little stores kill my appetite when I try to eat in the dining room.  I've never been able to keep my meal down when I see a table of 400+ porkers digging their graves with forks, which for some reason a CB always attract.

Cracker Barrel is overpriced but the food is pretty good for what it is.

I live in the South; I have to like Cracker Barrel!  Anybody who don't like their food is either a damn Yankee or a Kalifornia granola cruncher!

My beloved ball-n-chain, who travels extensively for work, loves Cracker Barrel....on the flip side of that coin, me thinks Cracker Barrel = rednecksville

love the food,  hate the atmosphere,  sounds like a pediatricians office,  a roar of noise with 50 screaming kids mixed in the whole time you eat.

Great old fashioned homestyle cooking ... if your home is the State Prison.

We've been twice. Food is good. Place is too loud and food isn't good enough to wait as long we had to wait both times.

Meatloaf.
