got a laptop with some sort of virus (padobot?) it looks like ti re-create itself or some files in the windows system32 folder- to the tune of about 850,000 times (not exagerated)  cant install norton because i cant boot into regular mode cause its too busy creating more files.  have run the usual spyware removers- dont help.  found a online scan- kills it dead with all the files- kinda at a loss here.

You NEED make sure that computer does not connect to the internet again.   And take is somewhere to be fixed.  if there is no data needed run the recovery cd's that came with the system, that WILL ERASE everything on the computer  and you will have to reinstall all of your programs.

Attach the hard drive as a slave drive on another system (or even better, use one of those IDE-to-USB adapters).  Then boot up that system and use it to run virus scans on the infected drive.  If you're booting from the infected drive, you might not be able to clean it, depending on what virus you have.

I wouldn't put a virus ridden drive into a good machine...... I just had one crash from doing that....(trying to save a customer's data)

Wipe the HD and reinstall.
