not super computer savy, just the last day or so my the things on my screen freeze until i actually am typing or move the mouse
ie...the gifs in the ads on the banner dont move unless im typing or moving the mouse, also if i try to load a page or clink a link or scroll a page...unless im moving the mouse it just sits frozen computer is rather new, maybe a year old hp pavilion dv6 running firefox....its annoying as hell |

Use microsoft security essentials as your virus software (read dump what every you have now and run only it as your virus protection program).
Then download/install malwarebytes, reboot up in safe mode, then run it. Note:To boot up in safe mode, either hold down F8 as soon as you hit the start up button, or if the computer does not come up with a boot option, let windows load, then go into msconfig through run, and on the boot tab, select start up in safe mode (you can change it back after wards). Lastly, go to run in the drop down menu, type in msconfig, and hit enter. Go to the start up tab, and give us the list of what is loading at start up. Some of the programs will be needed, but a great deal of them do not need to load at start up. |
