Ok, so I had a virus my A/V software was struggling to get rid of. I updated my antivirus software and my computer will not load windows now.
I have a boot recovery disk on the way, but just in case I took out the hard drive, put it in an external case, hooked it to my laptop, and ran an antivirus scan on it, as well as defragged it. Two questions: 1. Is there anything else I can do to this hard drive while I have access to it in the external case that will help it load windows when I return it to the PC? 2. All of my key data is under my user account, which does not have a password but I cannot access it because it says I do not have permission. Is there a way to gain permission so I can pull my data off in case windows never boots off this drive again? I went into properties and authorized permissions but it says "press enter to authorize" but never does. Thanks in advance, im pretty bad at this computer stuff, |
