hey what do i need to know about my system to install more space? i think it needs more hard drive sapce... when i try to copy DVDs it says "there is not enough free space" in c and d drive, theres really nothing i can delete. i think i SHOULD have 512, but i only have 256

you need to install another hard drive, which requires opening  the PC. If you don't know how to do that I suggest you pay someone to do so. Your post indicates this may be the best route for you.

ive been in and out of this system before for the video card. my friend will supply the hard drive in exchange for some firewood but he doesnt have time to put the hard drive in. he does computers for a living, and could probably talk me through it on the phone

In that case you should be able to do it. You'll need to make sure the jumpers are set on your current hard drive and the new one (if needed). Then you have to format the drive.

It only takes a few minutes to install a hard drive but when you say you're supposed to have 512 and only have 256, you're referring to ram not hard drive.

An external hard drive is an option worth looking at. More money than an internal but very easy to use.

external hard drives
