Why not capture one for scientific study? Feed it for about a month and see if it is indeed in the scorpion family. Scorpions are highly intelligent insects. You could probably even teach them a few tricks while growing them out. Maybe like roll-over, fetch or play dead. Just don't teach them how to shake hands.

Yes, baby sorpions do have stingers.  My uncle was stung by seven that crawled into his sleeping bag while he was a kid.  What you saw was probably a child of the night.  (Not sure of the technical name, that's what we call 'em down here.)  They look like a cross between a a scorpion and a mean looking spider.

Pseudoscorpions are a relatively common order of arthropods. They are classified as arachnids, just like true scorpions, spiders, etc.

Did yours look like this, or maybe this, or even this?

As you can see, they vary greatly in morphology, but share the common characteristics of pincers with no stingers. This is likely what you have found.

You would have to find an entomologist who knows your local area for more specific information.
