I don't even remember this one in the theaters earlier this year, but I rented it.

It's pretty good, it's as much a thriller as an action movie, with Mamet's "con within a con" story like in The Spanish Prisoner, but it has some good action sequences too.

Kilmer is a secret service agent assisting in finding the kidnapped president's daughter and there is a complicated story as to what's going on, but there are several pretty good shoot outs; and they seem pretty well done. No bodies flying 20 feet from shotgun blasts and Mamet's not afraid of having his good guys go down in the gunfights either. I think in one scene Kilmer is firing one of those shorty MP5s and they actually have a round hit it and disable it, which seems realistic since he's firing in darkness so the guys firing back could instinctively fire at the muzzle flash-he ends up having to pull his 1911 and carry on fighting with that.

Quoted: I couldn't stand the rifle fire being sooo acturate from a boat in the water. Man did you see the way the boat was bouncing then see through the scope and it was solid like bench resting, after that said it was still a good movie.

I noticed that also, I was just as distracted when they showed the view through the back up guys aimpoint the first time they went to that house as being some kind of rifle reticle, plus he had the front cap closed on it, at least as he got into position.
