Just got home from a one-day seminar by Lt. Colonel Danny McKnight he put on here in NC where he spoke about leadership and such and the issues he faced in Somalia (of course, inspiring the "Blackhawk Down" movie).

Very powerful information and he is an excellent and motivating speaker.  Aside from a few slides, and video clips to reinforce what he said, he had no notes, just spoke freely, candidly and his presentation flowed along with his thought.

He did mention that he has plans of like 90 some seminars this year; I would certainly recommend attending one of these if you get the opportunity.  It was free here for LEO/Military (as I would assume they all are, but please confirm).

Thought you guys would like to know.

Mark Bowden lives 5 minutes from my house. He's had groups over to discuss his books with interested locals. Like a moron, I wasn't interested at the time

I met him through a mutual friend, great guy, very mild temprement.  I was expecting a big burly guy like sizemore in BHD....

Great speaker and one helluva Army Officer, he has some great stories about being a leader in Ranger Batt.

Guys,

Sorry - just got home from job.  I do not really have a schedule; he mentioned that he was going like 90 some places, mentioning VA, FL from what I can remember.  And yes, he did get married like two weeks ago, his wife was there on the front row.

Let me look on the college's website and see if I can find a schedule by chance.  In the meantime, I would recommend you guys check your city's college website.  Sorry for not having further...

Pat-Riot - The seminar was in Greensboro at the Jamestown Campus of the Guilford County Community College.

eta: I checked the college site and sent them an e-mail requesting a schedule.  Will let you know...

+1 on the recommendation. I was at one of his seminars in December. One of the best speakers I have ever heard. A very positive guy.

Even after a real beating, looking at her, who would notice?

Well no shit. I thought McNight got shot at the back robbery in LA a few years back.
