I have been getting a good 7-8 hrs of sleep basically every night but I come home from work dead tired. Falling asleep at work sometimes too. Nothing I do is labor intensive so that makes it really weird.

A while back I use to do more labor and I use to wake up early (also go to bed early) I probably got 6 hrs of sleep.

WTF is going on, I am not drinking alot?

can more sleep actually cause you to be drowsey?

Yes, it sure seems like it.  I get 4-6 hours a night.  If I sleep in on a weekend or something I feel tired all damn day.

Right now that's the case for me.

I think it has to do with the season change.

I have proclaimed that theory for years.  I want the science behind it.

Seems to be that way for me.  Five hours is optimum for me...any more or less I feel tired all day...

Yeah, same thing happens to me.  I sleep 5-6 hours on Sunday.  Then, on Monday I feel great.  On Saturday after sleeping 8-10 hours I feel dead tired.

Yeah today to make things worse I went to work early finished up and left I came back around 8:00 and went back to bed you would think I was bouncing off the walls with that much sleep.

Not for me.  I think that I might have sleep apnea.  If I don't get 10 hours I feel like hell, falling asleep during the day.

For me it has to be increments of three hours...
3,6 or 9 hrs sleep, I think the REM phase of sleep
needs to occur naturally. I never use an alarm clock
for that reason.

A few weeks ago I couldn't go to sleep, so I ended up only getting about 3-4hrs of sleep 3 nights in a row, I felt so good those following days at work, I couldn't believe it! If I sleep in on the weekends, like 9-11hrs, I feel like shit the whole day, it's like I can't ever wake-up good! I know I shouldn't sleep in on the weekends, but by then I'm so dog tired that I can't help it!

Same thing for me. Average of 4 hrs per night and 7 to 8 on days off and I feel even more tired.

Do you snore?  Sleep apnea?  It is more common than many think.  I have it to some degree.  Alcohol makes it worse.

I think it's something with the seasons changing too.

Same thing here. I think it is a metabolism thing.

I do best on 6 hours or so, more or less and I am sleepy.

Yeah same here, If I get too much sleep, or don't do anything but sit around all day and not do much physical activity, I'll feel alot more tired than if I had stayed busy all day and gotten up early.

I would agree to that, much in the same way caffeine can give you some energy, but after the initial buzz wears off, you are more tired than you were before. One reason I have given up on caffeine, and try to sleep about 6 hours a night.

+1

More than 10, or less than 10, I feel like shit all day.  Around 10 or so, and I feel much better.
