hey, I need a .pdf converter that takes .docx/.doc and makes .pdf files.

Are there any free programs for Windows 7?

Google it.  Any trialware should do you fine.  Use process monitor to ID what registry values the program references.  Modify accordingly.  Infinite trial period.

Really?

Does that come with the OS? I've been trying to find it but it never worked.

I use PDF995, which acts as a printer only saves what you "print" to PDF.

It's cheap, or free with an ad-supported version.

If you spend money on a PDF creating tool, make sure you get one that can convert any document to a PDF, not just certain ones.

Another vote for PDFCreator. It has more functionality than CutePDF. Just be sure you uncheck "Install Yahoo Toolbar" when you run the setup.
