While I was loading mags this morning, I started thinking about 7.62x39. Why the hell do the Russians package their ammo in 20 round boxes when the great majority of mags out there are 30 rounders? [whacko]

Yeah...and why does .30 carbine ammo come on 10 round stripper clips when the mags hold 15 rounds?

[whacko] 5.45 comes in 20 round boxes, as well, but the AK-74 is mags are designed to be loaded with 15-round stripper clips. |
