BrianCav's father forwarded his obituary to me and I have posted it (at his request, of course) on the thread tacked above. It is on page 3. God bless the family. Here it is again: [b][size=4]Brian B. Cavanagh
Marco Island, FL
Brian Bowler Cavanagh, 20, of Marco Island, died suddenly December 24, 2001. Brian was raised in Avon, CT, and moved to Marco Island in 2000 after completing two years of college at SUNY, Morrisville, NY. He was currently a full-time student at the University of Miami in Coral Gables, FL.
He is survived by his parents, Tippy and John Cavanagh of Marco Island, formerly of Avon, CT; a sister, Mrs. Sharon Cavanagh Dane, brother-in-law Kevin Dane and nephew Preston Dane of Cedarburg, WI; a brother, Jeffrey John Cavanagh of Farmington, CT; grandparents Anthony and Irene Peters of Long Boat Key, FL; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Brian was a very special young man. He touched the hearts of all who knew him and will be missed dearly by all his family and friends. A memorial service will be held at Saint Mary’s Church, 76 Sharon Road (Route 41), Lakeville, Connecticut, on January 7th at 11:00 am. The family requests that memorial contributions in lieu of flowers be made to a favorite charity in his name.

OMG Morrisonville is less than minutes away from me. this really hits home.
oops nevermind, moorsville is a little farther away.

Morrisville is a couple of hours away from me. My brother went to school there back when it was a two year SUNY school. I understood that it later went to a 4 year program.
My sympathy to the family.

I don't know who wrote his obituary and I hesitate to say it, but the use of the words "died suddenly" seems somehow inappropriate.
My condolences to his family. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Why in the world at age 20 decide's to kill himself? it does not make any sense to me he had everything to live for with college and family!

My deepest condolences to his family. Brian, I hope you are at peace.

Why in the world at age 20 decide's to kill himself? >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Depression is the blackest hole that a human being can fall into. You see no way out, there's not hope and you can see no other way out. With help this young man could have lived a long, happy and productive life. But apparently from the limited information that we have here, he probably thought that it would have done no good. Depression puts blinders on your eyes and you can not see even part of the picture, much less the big picture that life is great and well worth living.
I really feel for the family, for they are the ones that will be asking questions, that unfortunately have no answers. I have worked many suicides in my career and this is something that you never get used to. This is so tragic and so sad, gone at 20 years of age. May God rest his soul.
