Washington, DC - BSNN - In a surprise news conference early this morning, a jubliant President Bush announced that US Special Forces operating in Afghanistan had captured Osama bin-Laden, the leading suspect in the September 11 terrorist attacks. Bush said the capture took place in southern Afghanistan near the Taliban spiritual capital of Khandahar.

A US Special Forces unit lead by Captain Hugo Ballsey was acting on intelligence data provided by a Russian Spetsnaz unit who had been opertating in the region. The US and Russian units, acting in cooperation, located bin-Laden and his entourage in a cave system in the hills outside Khandahar. After a brief exchange of fire, the troops were able to capture bin-laden and several of his top leutenants unharmed.

Spetsnaz Prisoner Extraction Specialist Private Ivantinan Grabbim said that bin-Laden was found hiding in a corner, clutching a Afhghan airways ticket to and a forged US passport. A large bar of soap and a shaving kit were also found nearby.

Defense Department soures said bin-Laden was immediatley removed from Afghani territory and taken to an undisclosed location. DoD sources also said that US military operations were continuing against targets in....

One day soon we will wake to such a headline, and here is my question: If we get to bin-Laden beforewe have taken apart the Taliban and "terrorist networks" do we keep on going? And against who? And for how long?

Comments, please...

I would hope any troops who come accross this swine would be smart enough to make sure he was captured - dead!  He is dangerous as long as he is alive.  If caught alive and tried it would be a disaster of unprecedented proportions.  Better they kill him and deny locating him.  Continue the war until ALL of the Towel Band and his cronies are rotting piles of goo.  For far too long we have taken half measures in war - now is the time to rectify that error.

Surely Afganistan must be forced to surrender unconditionally.  Next comes Iraq for same result.  Then move on to any other defiant nation that supports these swine.  Anything else is total failure.

Only giving credit to the Americans and Russians! What about the Chinese's assistance? I saw a great interview with the PRC commando team. Team leader Lahng Wang lured Osama out of the cave under the guise of delivering an order of egg foo yung and roast pork lo mein. When Osama angrily reminded secondary delivery man, Wun Hung Lo, that muslims don't eat pork, they started back towards their bikes with Osama in hot pursuit. Once Osama was suffieciently away from the cave US SpecOps snatched Osama, placed him in a K9 travel kennel and were immediately extracted.

Chinese team member Li King Poon was especially incensed by Osama's verbal tirade and threats. "He tell me he gonna wage Jihad on my family and crash plane into my momma's restaraunt. Boy, he leally make me mad!"

A job well done by all.

Kinda makes up for them holding onto our P-3, hmmm?

Yes we keep going,  if we capture him, we will end up making a martyr out of him.  We should keep going and eradicate signs of terrorism at every level.

There are so many martyrs in that region already, one more is not going to hurt. ObL strength lies in the fact that he can unite so many in hatred toward the US. With out him, they will eventually go back to hating each other. As far as capturing him, do we really want him tried; he should be killed on sight.

kramrd,
8 am est? You are still zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzeing man.  Check the whole thing.

My input if we capture Bin Laden, I say put him to jail and serve him nothing but SPAM.  I really think he won't be caught alive though, I'm thinking one of those bunker busters or fuel air explosives will get him before our marines and army starts ground pounding in Afghanistan.  We need to clean up all them radical muslim groups all over the world.  Then we'll start cleaning up on the drug lords.  I consider them a bunch of terrorist also because of all the car bombings and killings they are doing. josh

Glad to see you were wide awake, partner!

Whether we take him dead or alive the result is the same, a dead Osama. How and where is immaterial.

As far as the next batter on deck, I say we start pitchin' the goodies to Iraq. Every Arab government would sleep better at night knowing Saddam was out of business, but none have the nuts to say so publicly for fear of alienating their populations. So we do the open, dirty work, then be, well, just bit tougher than we were last time we saved their butts.
