I'm working on a deal to sell and trade a few firearms with a Guy in Connecticut.

I'm selling him three of my Jager rifles two AR-15 look a likes and one AK-47 look a like for cash and a MAK-90 in trade.

My Question is it legal to ship the rifles and hi cap mags to Connecticut?

Tiny:

Assuming you do not reside in CT, you must ship the firearms to an FFL holder.  That being said, CT has a separate "assault" weapons law.  There is a list of banned firearms here:

Looking at that list, take note of the word "type", which is used three times (for Thompson subguns, AK-47s, and MACs).  When the word "type" is used, all clones are illegal, as well as the named firearms.  What does this mean for you?

Your Jager rifles are not on the list, so they should be okay.  Your AR-15s are okay, as long as they are NOT Colt AR-15 or Sporter models.  Your AK-47s are not legal, no matter what manufacturer they are.  Finally, your hi-cap mags are okay as long as they are pre-ban mags.

I don't think you would be breaking the law by shipping the illegal guns to an FFL holder, but that FFL holder would be breaking the law if he transferred them to an "ordinary citizen".

You can read more information here:

per the state police, ak47 type rifles are ok as long as they are not chambered in 7.62x39. Oh, and they must be transfered through an ffl. Go here for more information and a copy of the state police letter, which came with my SAR-2.

Thanks for the help.
I am waiting for him to send me a ink signed copy of his dealers F.F.L.

The AP-74's (AR-15) look a likes are not clones.
one is in .22lr and the other is in .32acp and the AP-80 (AK-47) look a like is also in .22lr.
So I hope evry thing will fly right on this deal.
I'll have to wait to see what his dealer has to say about the deal.

Thanks again for your help.

Sounds like you're ok if the AK clone doesn't shoot 7.62x39.
