When i got stopped last month the officer didn't take my pistol.

Do you know why I stopped you? Might be the felony warrants, i'm not sure. Do cops still ask if the driver knows why the stop was made?

I stopped you because you aren't wearing your seatbelt. Is there a reason why you aren't wearing your seatbelt? "Yes, because I can't reach my gun when my seatbelt is on."

In Ohio, it is written into the law that you must hand it over if asked. If you do not, you are technically breaking the law.

I got stopped for a seatbelt violation in Ky several years ago. My seatbelt was on the entire time and he accused me of putting it on after the stop. Asshole state trooper, at least he went home safe Anyway, same stop had my pistol on my hip and an ak in the front seat. Didn't seem like he cared at all about the guns after I told him.

Be glad you don't live in New Jerseystan. If by some extraordinary means you actually get a CC permit, when you inform LE as required, the first response you usually get is "You better have a good reason for me not to arrest you right now."

The only time I put one on is in adverse weather conditions.

Last time I got pulled over for no seat belt the officer asked me why I wasn't wearing one and I told because I don't feel like it.

He told me it was the law and I needed to wear it for my safty. I told him I think the law is BS and that I was aware of the change and that I'm an adult and I'm more than capable of deciding for myself if I want to wear a seatbelt or not.

He agreed with me and we parted ways.  Meet him a few nights later at a bar with friends he is now married to my cousin.

I have been pulled over 3 other times and every I tell the office the same thing.

What??

Your story makes no sense. It was you, but then it wasn't. How would his LEO credentials come up? If your dad is a retired LEO, I am hoping he is smart enough to know NCIC has nothing to do with CCW permits and there is no information in NCIC about this.

So, your dad is his boss and it took him 2 minutes to know who recognize who his boss is? Does the agency maintain their own record system tat maintains criminal and employee information?

so where are you going with this?  why take a firearm that is loaded from someone who is lawfully carrying . seems kinda dumb since someone could get shot in the process. lets say the rookies boss is on the other side of car and didnt hear rookie over traffic ask for the firearm. then fto proceeds to shoot the person stopped for drawing weapon. just not cool. but hey i am no body and you seem to know this already.
