stopped for a seatbelt violation by leo . have a valid carry permit and leo know it when tag is ran thru ncic. officer approaches car with usual question do you know why i stopped you. yep not wearing seatbelt. next question are you armed. yep,,,,,,where is the weapon,,,in belt holster at right side. next statement , i will need to take your weapon...................W.T.H is this crap? He didn't know you had a permit by running your tag. Your permit is tied to your dl not your tags. Some take control of the weapon. Some don't. This isn't something new |

Do you know why I stopped you? Might be the felony warrants, i'm not sure. Do cops still ask if the driver knows why the stop was made?
I stopped you because you aren't wearing your seatbelt. Is there a reason why you aren't wearing your seatbelt? "Yes, because I can't reach my gun when my seatbelt is on." |

I got stopped for a seatbelt violation in Ky several years ago. My seatbelt was on the entire time and he accused me of putting it on after the stop. Asshole state trooper, at least he went home safe Anyway, same stop had my pistol on my hip and an ak in the front seat. Didn't seem like he cared at all about the guns after I told him.

the part i left out , it was my dad that has leo credentials , 70 year old and no criminal history and happens to be the d-bags boss. officer is a dumbass with no reason/ pc to do this. it took him about 2 minutes to come back with hat in hand and apologize for being stupid. dont know if he didnt realize who he stopped or just didnt care till his phone ,radio and computer lit up . Ah, the ole "Do you know who my dad is?" routine. Aren't you a special little flower.

Quoted: Who doesn't wear their seatbelt these days? Congrats on inviting the man into your life.. The only time I put one on is in adverse weather conditions. Last time I got pulled over for no seat belt the officer asked me why I wasn't wearing one and I told because I don't feel like it. He told me it was the law and I needed to wear it for my safty. I told him I think the law is BS and that I was aware of the change and that I'm an adult and I'm more than capable of deciding for myself if I want to wear a seatbelt or not. He agreed with me and we parted ways. Meet him a few nights later at a bar with friends he is now married to my cousin. I have been pulled over 3 other times and every I tell the office the same thing. |

It was you, but then it wasn't. How would his LEO credentials come up? If your dad is a retired LEO, I am hoping he is smart enough to know NCIC has nothing to do with CCW permits and there is no information in NCIC about this. So, your dad is his boss and it took him 2 minutes to know who recognize who his boss is? Does the agency maintain their own record system tat maintains criminal and employee information? |

Got it. ![]() so where are you going with this? why take a firearm that is loaded from someone who is lawfully carrying . seems kinda dumb since someone could get shot in the process. lets say the rookies boss is on the other side of car and didnt hear rookie over traffic ask for the firearm. then fto proceeds to shoot the person stopped for drawing weapon. just not cool. but hey i am no body and you seem to know this already. |
