Don't have one, but if current trends continue it will probably leapfrog to the top of my list of purchases.  I do second the "Long live Ronnie Barrett and the BIG 50" though.

I don't have $2,500 (minimum) to blow on a rifle right now, let alone to blow on a rifle that I can't shoot anywhere.

But dey's cool as hell!

No, but I am gonna get one before they ban them completely. $2500 is steep, but that's why God invented Credit Cards. Just curious, how much for rounds??

depends. I've seen then for $1.60 a ball round up to $35 for sabot rounds.

It'd be a fine time for a group buy if the process was'nt so skewed.

All I currently have is it's baby brother the .50 Beowulf.  But if my tax return is pretty enough, an AR50 may be moving into the house to keep baby brother company.

The 60 Minutes episode was very good.  Ronny didn't back down and definitely towed the RKBA line.  Someday when he gets bored with his job he should run for NRA president.

On a similar note, I recall along time ago seeing that someone was making single shot .50 uppers for AR-15 lowers.  Are they still around?  I have had no interest in going that route BUT if the feds start getting serious about a ban I think I might just have to go out and splurge.  Of course if a ban included ammo as well it would become a rather pricey paperweight.

I've got a Barrett M99 with a Lightforce 5.5x - 22x on it. It was actually a "group buy for me and two of my friends. We have fun shooting the big bastage!

There are several manufacturers making 50bmg uppers now. About 6 that comes to mind quickly.

After watching 60 minutes I have a feeling there will be an increase in  demand for the 50s which will cause a price increase.  I've always avoided shelling out the dough for one because I just wouldn't pay over $700.00 for any gun.  I usually put price tags on items I buy.  For example, $8.00 for a AK mag, $15.00 for an AR Mag, $1.00 for a quart of oil (which I never buy unless its on sale unless in a jam), $10.00 for a DVD, $100.00 for 500 rounds of LC 5.56, etc.

I think time has come to shell out the bucks, but I'd hate to fork it all over at one time.  I might consider a signature loan.  IIRC somewhere I read there was company that you let you make payments and when you've paid off the gun they would ship it to a ffl for transfer, anyone got a line on that?

I think Serbu has a payment plan for their rifles.

60 minutes did a good job, I enjoyed it. However all the exposure will proabably lead to even more heat to ban them. Get them while you can!

Crazy info about those triple threat rounds.  I did not know they existed.  I want one

Got mine! Picked up an Armalite AR-50 last year in anticipation of future banning. Not that many places to shoot it, but sure is fun when I do.

A year or two ago, I was trying to decide between a Serbu BFG50 and a Barrett M82A1.  I did the proper ARFCOM thing and got both.

Nightforce NXS 5.5-22x mounted on my Windrunner.  Pic was taken simply by placing my Olympus 3040 up against the eyepiece and letting the camera do the work.  Target is 3ft diameter.

I thought 60 min didn't help the cause out at all - and I like Barrett a lot.

I wishsomeone would just say that if you are going to ban 50s because terrorists _might_ use them...then we should actively "profile" arabs/muslims and maybe even put muslims in internment camps because they might be terrorist.
