| Ok, some of you are asking why them. I respond with the question of if not paypal, who else? Paypal is discontinuing the billpay service so I want to find another online transfer system. I have an ethical objection with being able to use my credit card to spend money, then not being able to use "online" money to pay back to that credit card. Paypal is going to make money on your spending, but give you no alternative to pay it back, kinda seems greedy to me! |
Send a damn check or do a wire transfer. Besides, paypal is not very secure, lot's of stories of people getting ripped off. |
+1 I hear this from friends all the time, but they're also the same friends that fall for the "Please click our link here and enter your paypal password for verification purposes" email scam. |
You mean if you bought/sold a knife using paypal, they'd close your account? WTF? |
Yeah...and just think, I sold a machinegun once and got paid with paypal. |
Boy are they gonna be pissed when they find out I paid for my GF's Henckel's cutlery with Paypal... Idiots. |
|
I can't help but notice that ARFCOM takes payments from PayPal.... Sounds like ARFCOM needs to develop a PayPal for gun folks.... I have to think that the minds that run ARFCOM and some of the Lawyer types on the site could make a go of it. I think I'll run it by one of the Avila's.... Dave |
BASTARDS! |

It's funny how they allow dozens of people to sell Contender barrels .... but not magazines. What's up with that? Scopes? why do they just target magazines and knives? EDIT: Nevermind .... I just read their rules. They specifically target high-cap mags "assualt weapons related" .... ![]() |
For the past two months, I've been using a service called MyCheckFree.com to pay my cell phone bill. They have an amazing selection of public utilities and consumer service payment options. I haven't tried them for anything other than for my Sprint PCS account, but so far so good and I'm not complaining.. ![]() GG |

Like others, I use paypal to do a lot of business with others that involes gunparts that are on the banned list. I learned early on that you have to lie to them to get it past the automated filters that looks for the "bad" words in your transfers. If AR15.com produced a money transfer system, I would sign up for it........till then I will have to use the other thing to get by on. It seems just plain wrong to me to not allow an LEO to get the gear he needs to do his job with.......just wrong. |
I just found out the guy I bought a rifle from last week through paypal had his account closed for this reason, and froze the assets in it. Thats BS. I will use an escrow service from now on, last night I closed my account and let them know why.
So UPS and the USPS can ALSO be considered culpable in a court of law? It's not JUST guns, its gun accessories to. You guys using Paypal should know; they only cover losses to $500, and if you issue a chargeback or claim against the seller you have to dispute it with paypal, so if you lie about what you are buying, and the seller screws you, you have ZERO recourse. You can't file a claim, or issue a chargeback, because you were violating the terms of use by purchasing "banned" goods. |
What amazes me is that you apparently tried to claim "protected status" as a LEO. What's good for the gander. . . . |

I use paypal alot. There are not many alternatives to it. Many of my clients also use it, as it is a hell of alot cheaper than a merchant account. The trick is to never leave any money in it. I keep a cheezy free checking account w/ debit card hooked up to it and I use the PAYPAL debit card as well. When ever I use paypal to recieve money I withdraw it from the ATM taking the max out everyday untill it is all out. I also NEVER submit money to people I don't trust well. On ebay they have to have been active for more than 6 months and have double digit 99% or better feedback ratings. Also people who rip you off on shipping cannot be expected to be honest anyway so I use this as a litmus test. If there is something I really want and I don't think they are 100% trustworthy, then I only spend money I don't care about loosing, never over $30 bucks. Only been burned once or twice. If paypal closes your account just open another one, just never leave any money in it. Always send or request money as cash or services. If you know how paypal can screw people then you can learn to work the system. |
Did you loose any money out of that account from it being closed? If so, I wonder how you'd go about getting that money back. |
