Today starts month seven. I had struggled with smoking for the past 10-15 years. I have quit for a couple of months at a time only to go back to it but I think I have finally kicked it.
The money I have saved from this has allowed me to purchase three suppressors and one SBR. |

Quitting smoking is easy. I've done it at least 5 times.
Congratulations. |
|
Congrats to you. I too know how hard it's to kick it. 15+ years and I think this time I'm done. Been going on 9 months and I still occasionally get the urge but I don't want to start all over.
Keep it up |

Being a smoker that needs to quit, I hate you.
Joking aside, congrats to you. |

Day one for me, about 18 hours in so far. Quit twice with chantix, but using the patch this time.
|
|
Congrats.
Later tonight I'll have my daily cigarette with a nice IPA. Moderation FTW |

I've been trying to run the past few years. Running/exercising really helps me not to want to smoke. |
|
Keep it up. I haven't had one in 4 years. Wish I had never started.

Congrats Bama. Cigarette smoking is awful. Single worse thing you can do to your health.
|
|
Awesome, keep working at it, I'm coming up on Year 13 myself....

COOL. I've been tobacco free for 2 years and 3 months. I'll never go back.

this thread needs to be tacked for help and accountability for us still trying to quit.
tried 3 times, still smoke a few a day. the best thing the wife and I did so far to help was to quit smoking inside. |

OP: it's been roughly 4 months since my last smoke. Stay strong my friend. ETA: Holy fuck! 3 suppressors and an SBR? You must have smoked like a train! |
|
Congratulations!
I'm struggling with the nasty ass habit myself. ETA: Did you use any patch, gum or pills? |
|
As the son of a father who died of lung cancer, I can tell you that you made a wise decision.

|
When you were a smoker how much did you smoke?
When I tell my Dr. my smoking habits he does not believe me. I never smoke at home or at night. During the week I have a about 2 a day with co-workers. If I drink I can smoke a pack in about 2.5-3 hours (if I even drink that long). I only drink about 2-3 times a month. |
|
Congrats!
I made the decision to quit three weeks ago. I slipped and had a couple the day my ex left, but I haven't had any since. The money saved so far has bought me new furniture, and is paying for a trip to San Jose to see one of my dear friends. |
|
Awesome!
Quitting smoking is the most important thing you can do for your health and overall quality of life over the long term. |
|
Good for you! I quit about 7 years ago. Now I can't stand the smell, although I still dream about smoking sometimes. I carried a pack of little mints in my pocket, which helped a lot. Stay strong!

I built up a supply of snus with the free coupons. Then one day I quit smoking and used nothing but the snus, after about two months I weaned off the snus so I've been nicotine free for about four months now.
I was smoking two packs a day. |

How do you feel now? Is it easier to breathe? Feel healthier? Yes. I plan to start running again this month. |

I have a few friends exactly like that. It's fairly common, and I'm not sure why your doctor wouldn't believe you. Guess he doesn't get out much. |

I quit about a year ago with the help of Niccorette Mini-Lozenges. Actually, in a year's time, I've smoked maybe 10 packs of cigarettes....I can't hardly drink beer without a smoke. I gotta think that: less than a pack a month is better than 2 packs a day. Now....to kick the lozenges. |

I am 3 months free , with the help of the e-cig. Tough thing to do this.
|
|
Congrats. You did the right thing.
Only bad habit I ever missed. I'll think of you when I pick up 500 cigarette butts after my 4th of July BBQ. Bastards. |
