I think it is a model 700P...or 700PSS.

Is there a difference and is this an "okay" price?

No difference that I know of. If it is a 700PSS, Yes that is a good price. I paid $800.

Hopefully it is still there tomorrow. It had a HEAVY barrel and said Remington 700 Police I believe. It had the double studs on the stock forearm.

That's a decent price....especially if it is new.

I like my Model 700 VS better for some reason, though, and you can find them a little cheaper.

Police, P and PSS are interchangeable, the only difference is when the weapon was produced.
I paid $700 for mine in July of '04.

COOL! Mine shoots fantastic. Plus you can adjust the trigger down to a nice pull. (Stupid ass lawyers)
