Mother OF GOD! Look at the Tip!

Link Posted: 1/4/2012 3:25:33 PM EDT
How the fuck do I get a job as a waiter in the Hamptons?
Link Posted: 1/4/2012 3:25:37 PM EDT
Whoa.
Link Posted: 1/4/2012 3:26:14 PM EDT
They were doing ok until they got stupid with the fucking booze.

Link Posted: 1/4/2012 3:27:11 PM EDT
$12 for a lg water
Link Posted: 1/4/2012 3:27:21 PM EDT
Link Posted: 1/4/2012 3:27:40 PM EDT
That's fucking retarded.
Link Posted: 1/4/2012 3:28:05 PM EDT
Wish I had money like that to waste. The odd thing is that I wouldn't waste it like that. $47k would buy a sweet Class 3 weapon or two.

Of course, the pompous idiot(s) that spent that $47k on a dinner would think my purchase was a waste also. At least I'd have something to show for the wasted money.

20 bucks for fried calamari?
Link Posted: 1/4/2012 3:28:32 PM EDT
Patrick Bateman and Craig McDermott are summering in the Hamptons I see.

How much you want to bet that waiter did not receive all of that mandatory gratuity? I'm sure the owners took a cut for themselves.

You comment on that when 35k of their 36k tab was booze????

If I could afford the tab I would add a 20% tip...... but if they add an automatic 20% tip when 99% of the work is bringing out a few bottles of booze I would adjust the tip down to be 20% of the food and $1 a drink.

$12 water
Link Posted: 1/4/2012 3:33:43 PM EDT
Definitely a place where when someone announces "Let's all just split it evenly", I would fight to the death if I just got a soup and $12 bottle of water.

Something i will never understand. I realize there are finer grades of any alcoholic beverage.. and i can even see spending a few hundred dollars on a bottle.. but $10K+ It seems like a VERY irresponsible way to use your money, even if you are extremely wealthy. Very irrational behavior.

This guy did a little better....

By the early hours of Thursday, he had run up a bill of £71,000.60 - which included a £10,000 tip for the serving waitress Margaux (not a real name), a £7,956 service charge and £7,200 on six magnums of Dom Perignon.

Who got a hold of the Obama's receipt?
Link Posted: 1/4/2012 3:34:59 PM EDT
They didn't spend it on dinner, they spent it on booze and an incredibly inflated tip.

Um, almost all of it was tier 1 wine and champagne.

edit: they are tier 1 wines with "prestige" markups.

(hey look at me... i can afford the 84 petrus and have a colt rifle. You drink house wine and sport a dpms!)

$47,000 and not a single thing to show for it.

Truffle Carpaccio

Truffle Tagliolini

Glad someone's drinking that old wine...

PS..they claim playing classical music in restaurants "helps" people spend more money. Wonder what was playing that night.??

Oh and probably the owner or even the waiter can now afford a Tier 1 AR-15.

$60 for asparagus.

Same mindset as the people who fucked our economy.

If I was rolling like that, I'd do it too.

I think most I payed for dinner was about $300-ish. Four people a bottle of wine, plus another glass.

I'll piss in a large tumbler with ice, a spoonful of sugar, and a lemon wedge, call it lemonaid, and throw it in free of charge.
Having dollars does not mean having sense.

Pétrus and La Tache, that's some fine grade ethanol!

Looking at that receipt has me thinking of this.

I go to very nice restaurants when invited by some of my very wealthy relatives. Some of them are extremely wealthy.

Our average bill is still only 50 bucks a person. The food is exquisite, the atmosphere is perfect and the bar has live jazz piano at all hours of the day.

I can't imagine what a restaurant could offer that would be worth a bill like that.
Link Posted: 1/4/2012 3:47:09 PM EDT
Don't know how you got that...fwiw, everything was delicious, and yes, we tipped 20%
I probably drank too much though

Washed down with a $1000 glass of wine, a Jackson for some fried squid seems like a bargain!

If I ever have 47k to drop on a dinner I am going to go into Waffle house and order a Ham and Cheese Omlet and leave the waitress a 46,993.00 tip. That way I can make someones fucking year.

Reading the Yelp Reviews, sounds like Euro-trash-house Music and Russian Strains of HIV...

The Tip was probably split between 20 some people not just one waiter took that tip.

In those nice restaurants each person in the party gets their own waiter.

stupid
Link Posted: 1/4/2012 4:01:47 PM EDT
$12 for a water? And I thought spending $30 for a burger, fries, and slice of pie when I was in California a few weeks ago was expensive(including tax)
Link Posted: 1/4/2012 4:03:19 PM EDT
I see a $12 large water and 2 chunks of parmesean for $28 in there.
