[ARCHIVED THREAD] - .22lr (Page 1 of 2)

I've stockpiled ammo for every firearm I own...except .22, since I never thought it would be hard to find.
|
| it's pretty crazy now how you can't find even .22lr. I was in wal mart today and the only .22 they had were a few 50rd boxes of subsonic and the really expensive stuff. My buddy who has a small sporting goods store can't even get .22 from any of his suppliers. If you have a .30-06 or .270 though, finding ammo isn't an issue in my area. |

We normally buy 5-6K rounds every 5 years for the farm, we just so happened to stock up in NOV...wish we had tripled the order now and got another 500rds of .222 for the coyotes.

Never thought I would see the day you couldnt find .22,...good thing we already filled the farm account and bought 6K rounds last season for varmits my retirement fund ... FIFY |

I made the same mistake, Aiden. The irony is pretty obvious. It's crazy, I've been through the other panic buy years...and .22lr was always plentiful. Maybe it is all the .22lr conversions. *shrugs* I had a girl at work who was asking me to go shooting say a couple of things that made me realize that some people don't have a very good grasp of the facts regarding different calibers. This is from someone who proclaims to love to go shooting. |

Cabela's had over a thousand 325-round boxes of Federal semi-auto match last week for $12.99 a box. They lasted probably less than an hour. Can't find any here in CO. It was phone order only. I wasn't a hog -- I only bought 3 boxes. Yeah, I hope to get lucky someday. I wanna smack myself when I think of how many 550 value packs I passed by thinking, "Eh, it's .22LR. Better save for more .223!" |

Ya and all the people who bought it are now selling it on GB. there is no shortage of .22LR it's all on GB being bid up to insane prices. I even sold some of my stock to cash in on the feeding frenzy while the fish are consuming themselves. |

They sold 1100 boxes of mini mags in about 8 mins a little while ago. I don't know how much they started with or when they listed it, but when I checked there was 1100 boxes and it sold out while I was waiting on my buddy to tell me if he wanted any. ETA: There website is down now. Guess they couldn't handle the traffic? |
