what kind of gun do you think this cylinder goes to? looks like an old .22 revolver of some type?

Sure looks like it.SAA type is my bet.

Just looked at a stripped Colt .22 Frontier in the gun room. Thats the cylinder from one. Exact same thing.

Yes, the cylinder looks just like the one on a generic SAA clone .22 I have.

found it at the flea market this morning for a buck $

he said he thinks it goes to an old ruger

I just finished cleaning it up, it was covered in old grease and grime

The chambers are recessed so it may be from an Old Model Ruger. Many of the 22/22 Mag convertibles have lost one of their cylinders over the years.

First glance, I thought Ruger, but it looks heavier or wider, I don't know, Iver Johnson?  Definitely not Bearcat.  Prolly not Ruger....I trust my fellow member up there got it right with COLT.
