The Gene Hackman blind scene and the "Puttin' on the Ritz" scene rank up there as some of the funniest stuff I've ever seen.

"Igor, will you give me a hand with the bags?"

"Certainly, you take the blonde and I'll take the one with the turban."

"Roll, Roll, Roll in the Hay!"

What Knockers! (Why zank you doktor)

Elevate me. (Wha..wha...here?...now?) The platform. Elevate the platform. (Oh, yes doktor, right away...)

That's the pinnacle of western civilization right there in that movie. Brings a tear to my eye.

"Walk this way"

"What hump".

"Frau Bleucher"...and every horse within earshot whinnies.

A classic, with too many good lines to quote.

Age has *not* been kind to Teri Garr, plus iirc, she has some sort of chronic health problem now. Madaleine Kahn is not with us anymore, nor Marty Feldman.

I'll stop and watch it just about every time I see it on TV.

Gene Hackman played the blind peasant. That scene is even funnier if you watch the original it's based on.

Nope, Gene Hackman plays a blind man whom Frankenstein's Monster comes to visit... Pure comedy gold.

Fredrick: Would you mind telling me whose brain I did put in?
Igor: And you won't be angry?
Fredrick: I will *not* be angry!
Igor: Abby Someone.
Fredrick: Abby Someone. Abby Who?
Igor: Abby Normal.
Fredrick: Abby Normal.
Igor: I'm almost sure that was the name.

Igor: Dr. Frankenstein?
Fredrick: Fronkensteen.
Igor: You're putting me on.
Fredrick: No. It's pronounced Fronkensteen.
Igor: Do you also say Froderick?
Fredrick: No. It's Fredrick.
Igor: But why isn't it Froderick Fronkensteen?
Fredrick: It isn't, it's Fredrick Fronkensteen.
Igor: I see.
Fredrick: You must be Igor.
Igor: No. It's pronounced Eye-gor.
Fredrick: But they told me it was Igor.
Igor: Well they were wrong, then, weren't they?

I ain't got no body and no body cares for me hacha chacha

MaDanby and I went to see it on it's regular national opening night, but at USC in a benefit for the School of Cinema. Mel Brooks pulled out a stool and had an open discussion with the audience for about an hour and a half or so afterwards. How they locted and used the tesla coils, traveling arcs from the original movies, all the allusions to scenes in earlier movies. "We've been through this 4 times before"

One of our first dates. Guess something about both being interested in whacky things has stuck with us.

And a worm with very few exceptions is not a human being.

At first glance I thought this title said, "Young Feinstein"

Inga: In other words, his veins, his feet, his hands, his organs would all have to be increased in size.
Frederick: Exactly.
Inga: He would have an enormous schwanz-stucke.
Frederick: That goes without saying.
Inga: Oohf!
Igor: He's gonna to be very popular.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Inga: The monster got part of your wonderful brain.
But what did you ever get from him?
Fredrick: Hhmmmmmmmmmm...
Inga: No! Oh! I don't believe..! Oof! Aah! Oh! Oh! Oohhh!!!
I can't remember the exact line but.......
"Let me see if I have this straight: I've put a abnormal brain in a seven foot tall, four foot wide, 500 pound GORILLA!!!
"Pardon me boy, is this the Transylvania Station"?
Love the movie- hate the commercials. Last trip to Target tried to buy Blazing Saddles (out). A combo with YF would get free amazon shipping. Hmmmmm.
One of the most under rated masterpieces of cinema. I haven't seen it in some time, yet I can laugh my ass off just thinking of it!
Rich
Some movie channel (?AMC) voted it the funniest movie of all time.
I agree.
