Never ceases to amaze me!

I post about my marital problems, and TONS of e-mails, IM's and comments in support. Offers to crash at their place, stash the guns, you name it.

I mention I'm visiting a certain area, and it's invites for drinks, dinner, and shooting. Loans on weapons extended without asking.

I meet the Avilas, SP10, Aimless, Norman74, and a few others.

Now I mention I'm up here in CommieLand and I get two invitations for drinks, one to go shooting, and (get this) an invitation for a HOME-COOKED MEAL!

I LOVE this friggin' place!

As long as you're not from AZ.

Or so it seems lately, could go either way.

Or post about a maglight.

P.S. I have used one to break a guy's wrist who stuck a switchblade in my face while employed as a Security Officer back in the 1980's. A wonderful use for a Maglight.

This place is great. But part of me has to say this:

I bet you that if you didn't have your post count, it may not have been so friendly. Just a thought.

Perhaps, and it wouldn't surprise me. The fact is that your sign-up date, your post count, and your general comportment on the site gives others a reasonable idea of whether you're worth inviting over or not.

If that's true, then I am further humbled....

I agree. This is a great community, it has some problems but then again show me a net community without issues and i'll show you a 3 dollar bill. Hope all works out for you.

Yeah, I remember one of my first posts earned so many hate-filled diatribes that I stayed away for about three months. I came back and posted an innocent question about the M17S, and got several dickweeds with attitudes in my face over it.

ARFCOM isn't the most friendly place on the internet, not by a loooong margin, although I have met some intelligent people. I posted a thread that concerned the reasons why Germany lost the war, and it has gotten some very insightful answers.

The "you build it" community rocks, too - lots of great help, advice, and wishes over there.

It's called taking care of your own....and if you are near eastern PA, there are a few beers and a few hundred rounds with your name on it. Best reason to buy ammo by the case...n ever know when you will be entertaining guests!
