Standing in line at Walmart to get groceries earlier this afternoon. I usually shop at Target, but they're closed today and we desperately needed some food and household supplies.
Couple standing in front of me has a cart full of groceries. Both of them are decked out in Under Armor tops and bottoms like they just got back from a nice jog. Both sporting Oakley sunglasses resting on their heads. Both wearing nice looking running shoes. She's clutching a Coach purse while he's playing on his Tier 1 smartphone. Keyring is resting on the little stand by the credit-card machine and it's easy to see the "L" design of a Lexus key. She reaches in her wallet (also Coach) to pay and pulls our her WIC card.
I know we see this every day and I shouldn't be surprised....but that really tonked me off. You can afford some of the finer things in life but you can't afford to buy your own food. What a joke. tl;dr: Lexus + WIC + Walmart = 'Murica |

You couldn't plan far enough in advance that you didn't "desperately need" food and other shit on Easter? My in-laws have been in town for 10 days and regular routine has been set aside to make others happy. Today just happened to be the day I said fuck it and went to the store. I'm not religious so Easter is just another Sunday for me. |

I'd have less of a problem with financial assistance if it wasn't for the blatant abuse of the system. |
