2 of the 3 DVD's I got today will not play.
Glad this is a free trial. |

I've been with NetFllix for over a year, most of it on the three-at-a-time plan and I've seen exactly two unplayable discs the entire time. My experience with Netflix has been very good. My wife loves the "watch instantly" feature and with 10Mbps internet it (usually) works very well. |

Hmmm, no problems for me yet. Only been a few months though. ![]() I already have replacements coming, being shipped tomorrow. But was all excited to have some movies to watch. Oh well. Atleast i dont have to jump through hoops to get replacements. Just log on, and like 4 clicks, got a new one coming.

| I've had that problem with Netflix a few times, they are really good about replacing it. PLUS, I bought the Roku player box, it's incredible. Amazon.com got on board with them now too, so the box has all the "watch instantly" titles from netflix, and pay-per-view for Amazon. The box made netflix worth it to me. |

Are you sure it's not your DVD player?
My DVD player is so old that it won't play writable media (e.g. CDRs). This was back in the day when DVD players were designed that way, supposedly to deter piracy. As a consequence, it is very finicky about DVDs ... a few small scratches and it will lock up. However, in my five years of Netflix membership, I've only had to return 2-3 discs for scratches. Everything else played fine. So hell, if my old finicky DVD player can get through five years with only three returns, I'm thinking your DVD player must be really messed up (or Netflix just sent you bad discs). |

Yeah, they are bad. |

I geta disk per month defective disk out of 10. They are fast to replace it but this bumps another movie.
The scratched disks are obviously being used as toys by animals and children or as coasters. I wash off fingerprints and fastfood grease regularly to get DVDs to play better. At least I am ASSUMING it is fastfood grease. Could any of our LEOs run prints off a disk for me, I'd like to send a personal note to the fumble-fingered f$cks that scratch up disks.

I have had a few bad discs, some just get so scratched by people that they are not useable, locks up the player, skip, etc. I have had two that were actually broken, cracked. Otherwise, no problem, if you have an issue, customer service is great and I can always reach someone. I love the instant watch, but Qwest has some sucky routers that screw me up sometimes on video quality, but that is not Netflix's problem. I have really enjoyed the service and definitely see movies and TV series that I would have otherwise never seen.
I have been watching another canceled show, Surface, it was good so it was canceled. I think the real .gov conspiracy is with the networks to put on crappy programming to lull the masses and keep them from thinking!
