You know how if you dump a bucket of soapy water in the grass in the summertime a bunch of worms come wiggling up out of the grass... Well, if you rinse 'em off and put 'em back in dirt, will they live? My wife wants some worms for her potted plants.

Worms are pretty hardy critters.  You can do that or just buy some medium-sized fishing worms.  They do have a tendency to crawl out of flowerpots so you may find them dead on the carpet if she has them indoors.
