I have a problem with my work boots...I get small blisters that look more like sweat that got stuck under a thin layer of skin and I get a bunch of small red spots also. I was told it was from sweating and rubbing of my feet against the boots, but I don't know how to stop it. I drilled a couple 1/8" holes on each side of each work boot but that only helped a little. Anyone have any tips on how to prevent this? Getting new workboots is pretty much out of the question right now. |

100% cottom socks are a must. as well as making sure they fit right. If you can't get new ones right now, check into a pair of good insoles or odor eaters. Sometimes they will absorb what the sweat created from the steel inside. And get some powder if you are sure it is from sweat. Sounds more like they are too narrow. ![]() When you can check out Sears. They used to have cheaper ones than anyone else. So does many sights on the net if you can go and find the ones you want in the store, then go to the net and buy. Google the style and size and cheaper of the same will come up. Good luck. |

ok thanks a bunch! |
Terrible choice! What one should wear with lots of sweat is wool socks as wool will wick the sweat away from the skin & prevent blisters. Ask any military vet who's been on long marches. Cotton will get wet & remain wet all around one's foot. |

Yeh if you can put up with the itching all day! Plus the fact that wool socks caused a lot of men trouble because they sucked too much moisture from the feet. My dad had a terrible time from those in WWII. blech! Caused my dad major trouble. He switched to cotton later on. No more trouble. I think out in the trenches and the boots wet are different than regular sweat coming from the inside of the shoe. So chicken little... see what works for you. You have two opposing views. Hope one of them works for ya. |
