| What is your favorite. Will be used mostly inside on concrete floors. TIA |

I'm a long distance hiker, so I care about taking care of my feet all day long on concrete floors where I average 11+ miles a day. Another vote for Red Wings and I've found the Wolverine Dura Shocks to work quite well. If steel toe was not required, I'd wear my Asolo's all day, every day. |
| I am in RedWings and like them but my feet still hurt at the end of a long day standing on concrete. They are better then anything else I have tried. I think I will try danners next. Had a pair of those back when I was humping hills for a living and they were absolutely great. |
Another vote for Redwings here, but i have the same problem when standing on concrete all day. My feet (especially my heels) still hurt after half a day no matter what i wear on my feet. I've come to the conclusion that there is no footwear made that will keep your feet 100% pain-free if you stand on concrete all day. I've tried everything from different tennis shoes to work shoes to work boots. Redwings are the best i've found though; they're worth the money. |

If you want a pair of boots to impress your yuppie friends, Danners are definately the way to go. If you need a pair of work boots, get something else. I have two pairs of Danner Super Rain Forest boots. They are reasonably comfortable. They do not stay water proof for long at all. They easily get beat up by chemials, oils, detergants, etc. On one boot from each pair the leather has worn strange, creating a crinkle in the boot that rubs the skin off the top of my toes as I walk. |

Red Wings If you have the opportunity go to a Red Wing store, great selection and their employees know their stuff. They will get you into a pair that will meet your needs. If needed they will also swap insoles and upgrade so you get exactly what is good for you. Free laces and waxing for as long as you own the boot. |
Same here. I've tried all kinds of insoles, and can't seem to find one that feels the best. Currently using one from Academy. I bought some from Bass Pro a while back, can't remember the name, but they were good - think I'll try another pair. I tried some Lariats a while back. They broke in a lot easier, and lasted just about the same amount of time - almost a year. But they quit making the pair about 2 yrs ago that fit me the best. For those that suggest getting Red Wings resoled, etc...I tried it, and won't spend the money again. Guess it was about $45, and the soles started coming unglued - just a complete waste of time. But, I am very hard on boots. |
| Wore Redwings religiously for years, until I tried a pair of Doc Martens. They work on concrete, unstable rock, whatever you stand on. The reason I went to them is I had a co-worker who could go thru Redwings in about 9 months, It takes him 2+ years to wear out the Docs. |
| I'm wearing Wolverine Durashocks and have been very happy with them. I haven't worn Redwings in years but I might have to give them another try. When you wear boots six days a week like I do it is not something you want to go cheap on. The sad thing is my work boots are most comfortable shoes I have. |
Yup, agree with all of the points. |
