My girlfriend lives right behind a pawnshop/gunshop I used to work at.  I was hanging out there and a friend came in.  I am going hunting hogs tomorrow with my suppressed AK and he wanted to see it so I walked to my gf's, got it, and walked back.

About 5 minutes after I got there a police officer, who also hangs out at the pawnshop after he gets off his shift, called and asked if everything was ok.  He said someone had called the police saying someone was walking down the street with an AK but then called back a few minutes later saying they had walked into a pawn shop.

Should I be worried?  Really I am not, I know I didn't break any laws, but I have to walk back and don't want anybody busting my balls.  It just 100 yards away.  I might just hitch a ride back.

100 yards?

Run back home, but zig back and forth. Make sure to check over your shoulder.

You'll be OK.

As long as you weren't threatening people with it.

See if they have  a rifle case you can borrow for the walk home.
If not, then I suggest doing some commando rolls as you zig zag your way back to your GF's place.

Legal in Texas if not threatening people with it. Plain sight carry of rifle and shotgun OK, pistol in plain sight is ride in backseat of cop car... fullclip

This, be sure to yell "SERPENTINE, SERPENTINE"!! as you do it too.

Otherwise they might just think you're crazy.

Theoretically legal in TX as long as you're not displaying the weapon to "intentionally" provoke alarm.

It's probably important to note that I am not a lawyer.

I think anywhere but Austin you're fine. Where in TX are you?

Used to have a teenager in our neighborhood who used to ride his bike with a .22LR rifle across the handlebars to go to a nearby woods to hunt squirrels and rabbits.  Yes, we are out of city limits.  Yes, he had permission to hunt on private land (woods).  Yes, he was far enough away from dwellings.  He was a good kid and shot responsibly.  Never a problem.
