This proposal is quite simple in concept...
Range is only about 3 feet.
Wireless USB.
Essentially I just want to pass information from 1 USB port to another USB port wirelessly.
Every
Bluetooth/Wifi device I see requires you to install software on both
devices. Would it not be possible to make a dongle which would
essentially just pass information from device A to device B via a
wireless connection (without installing special software on both devices).
[USB Port A] - [Wireless Dongle A] - [Wireless Dongle B] - [USB Port B]
Anyone know if this can be done?

Quoted: that looks to me like it would do exactly what you're wanting to do with it. the USB hub is for expanding its ability, not enabling it. I'll have to contact the company. If you look closely at the diagram the signals are passing through a hub. Which leads me to believe these just allow you to add more devices to an already existing wireless usb network. Now, will it work with a camera's USB mini B port? (FYI Nikon D80...doesn't support WiFi/Bluetooth)? |
