I'll admit that I need some pretty lame help.

Some people were at our house last weekend during the kids b-day party and changed some settings that I can't figure out how to get back.

* When I attempt to preview a picture that we downloaded from the camera it opens the said pic with "Notepad" (bunch of garbled code).
Can someone please help me get this back so that it previews the pics with the Windows Previewer?

Open "My Computer"

Click the Tools menu

Select "Folder Options"

Click the "File Types" tab

scroll to the file type/extension you wish to change (jpg, jpeg, gif)

Select the item and click "Change"

Should get you there... ")

I'm using a Linux box right now, but if I remember correctly, I think you can just right-click the file and select "Open with..." and make your choice.

Right click on the thumbnail...

Go to open with...

Windows Previewer.

Or just restore your system to a date before they were there.

Since your question has already been answered correctly, I'll just add some useful advice:

When I let others use my computer, I have them log in as a generic guest whose profile is severely restricted with group policies. Basically, they can use Firefox to surf the web. That's about it.

Thanks all that replied.   I knew that I could find the answer here.
I guess I just need to set up a guest user when people come over.  Is it me or is your computer like your underwear?  I really don't like anyone else to use it ( its kinda personal to me ).
