I have access to Windows 7 Professional (x86) through MSDN and want to try it out on my Acer Aspire One (netbook), after a little googling I found there are a couple of methods for this. Any recommendations on how I should proceed?

I did a DVD install on two machine, one a conventional laptop with a DVD drive and the other a netbook using a USB dvd drive. Installs went fine and I'm loving 7.

I have installed it on 2 systems, both were Vista Ultimate, one desktop, and one laptop.

Ran the upgrade install on both, both went flawless! (Windows 7 Ultimate)

Systems run faster and everything works post install.

My problem is I don't have access to a usb dvd drive, so far when I've needed to install something onto the netbook I use a networked disk drive.

So I'm looking at the usb flash drive method and there are at least two ways I've come across and I'm looking for some input from someone that has gone through this.

Gotcha, sorry I thought you were asking about clean install vs upgrade.

I have not had any luck with the tool that was listed in another thread, it stops during the format or it refuses to install the iso image.

That seems to be a somewhat common complaint, which is why I asked here.
