Well, my computer had been in storage for a couple of months, so I finally did the SP2 update. When I updated my computer at work a while back I had no problems.  Now with SP2 my home machine locks when I try to put into Hibernation or Standby.   Any ideas or solutions?

And "Don't put it into Hibernation or Standy" is not a solution.

Streamline an install disk – fdisk, format /u/c, re-install (you might also look into bios revisions for the motherboard)

other than that... tinker with the power mgt settings in bios and cross your fingers (doubt it will work but you might also pull acpi and let it reinstall)
