Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Why is my computer doing this?????

My computer will at random open IE windows to my homepage. Changing the homepage does not change this. Problem is they are always "off screen" so if I minimise them I see nothing and maximize it still nothing but the little title bar thingy flys off the screen like the window exists it just cannot be seen. If I am online for a little while I have to keep going and closing these windows...... WTF is making it do this, and how do I stop it. I am running IE 6 and Win ME.

It only does it when i am active online, usually when I navigate in the IE window I am active in.

Wild guesses - Check your preferences sounds like it is following directions to open new windows in your home page and something is cueing it to open,  and might be your pop-ups are opening in the home page and not the ad (only a slight improvement)  Active desktop?

What browser and Operating System?  If Netscape try Internet Explorer or vice versa and see if it continues to happen.

You change anything else lately?

Ditch the ME.  Mine dies the same thing, its a popup ad for a window not currently open.
