If you smash a fly, you get blood.
If you smash a wasp or bee, no blood. Clear.

If you smash a horseshoe crab, the blood is greenish-blue (copper not iron).

Insects don't have blood. They have Hemolymph
Edit: Also...flies eat a lot of shit. Bees not so much.
