IIRC some people have suggested that moon tide cycle influences (and is nearly the same length) as women's menstrual cycle.  Others think it is pure myth.  

Maybe that has something to do with it?

There's the answer, check the "wanna get some" phase of the menstrual cycle against the moon's cycle. All you'll need is a Farmer's Almanac and some "red wings."
