Obama Can Spread Prosperity, Fairness, Buffett Says

U.S. Senator Barack Obama is a ``leader'' who can ease economic disparity while increasing prosperity, billionaire Warren Buffett said at a fund-raiser he held for the presidential hopeful last night.

"We have abundance but we don't have as much fairness as we might have in the system," Buffett, 76, told attendees at the Omaha, Nebraska event.

Buffett, who has not endorsed Obama, 46, or rival New York Senator Hillary Clinton, 59, said earlier this year that he would help either of them with their presidential campaigns if asked.
.
.
.

Somehow people like Buffet, Soros and others including Follywood megamillionaires have gone from rags to riches without relying on Socialism and Communist programs - and yet they all seem to now believe that no one else has a chance to become prosperous and that the only way for them to spread their wealth "fairly" is for the Gov't to heavily tax the rich and subsidize poverty.

Why do so many of the super-rich push for tax-the-rich, get-even-with-them Marxists like Obama and The Beast?

The real question is, if they believe in it so much, why dont they give all thier money away? I know they donate alot already, but not anywhere near the percentage the gov steals from us to fund these wacky handout schemes.

first of all, the super rich often have very little taxable income.

second, they know that they will be the "ones in control" when the marxist paradise is instituted.

I think my favorite was watching Warren Buffet complain that his secretary pays more taxes than he does....

Well gee whiz, Warren....write a damn check, whydontcha?

Maybe stop using every accounting trick on the books to receive your compensation in forms that have LOWER TAX RATES (capital gains, etc..) and pay your "fair share" of the burden if it bothers you that much.

Don't run around with schemes to redistribute what little wealth I HAVE because you have some sort of brain malfunction.

"The system isn't progressive enough!"

If the system gets any more bloody "progressive" I'm going to be out on the street.

Because they pay accountants to shelter as much of their money as possible from the tax man, and take compensation in forms (like capital gains) that have much lower tax rates.

They could easily increase their taxable income...and yet none of them do.

My favorite question to ask these types is "So why do you pay accountants to reduce your tax liability? If you're so in favor of wealth redistribution why not let uncle Sam have your full portion of taxes?"

Hint - This does not go over well in lecture classes when asked of liberals or (especially) professors.

I don't make any income.  I only get compensated for my daily labor.  So why am I paying taxes?

Some people are so far detached from working middle class America that they can't even picture what it's like to live off of 50k and have to shell out ~18% of that to shiftless welfare bums, illegal immigrant leeches, and free college for prison inmates.

And yet they know better than us, what's best for us

ETA Speaking of "the beast", I once heard a Jeapretardy trivia question on Glenn Beck where He just said "She's the Antichrist" and the callers correct response was "Who is Hillary Clinton?"

Don't you realize they are the rightful master in their own mind, the commoners need their leadership and  ideas for they are to stupid to conduct their own affairs

Same reason they are for gun control yet have security details armed with automatic weapons

Same reason they are for mass transit and roll with private jets and armored SUV's

+1.  Have you seen the way the top 1% lives a communist society?  If you think that the gap between the rich and poor in the US is troubling, try looking at Russia or China.

Do you really think that super rich gets taxed as much as the lower or middle class people?  Not even close.  It's called tax write off.  With lawyers at their disposal they constantly find loopholes in the tax system.

Try this on them-

"Anyone who feels they aren't contributing their 'fair share' can write a check to Bureau of the Public Debt. In the memo section, note it is a 'Gift to reduce the Debt Held by the Public.'........"

send to-
Attn Dept G
Bureau Of the Public Debt
P. O. Box 2188
Parkersburg, WV 26106-2188

Tell them you tithe and maybe you'll get an "A"

Because the super rich become even richer in a socialist society.  Only the wealthy maintain status and are "above" the program.  Everyone else: middle and lower class suffers a lot.  So, it is to the benefit of the rich to move in that direction.

cause the rich and powerful will ALWAYS be rich and powerful......

The idealist Marxism keeps the masses too busy/miserable to care.

By stifling entrepeneurship and individual initiative/responsibility, no one can threaten their status.

To see socialism, marxism, communism etc truly at work, just look at Mexico.  It is primarily a 3rd world country, sorry but that is the truth.  That country may exceed the US in certain aspects, but basically the country is poor with vast slum outside of Mexico city, BUT it has the world's richest man, what a interesting dichotomy.

The rich will never pay the same percentage of their wealth out as taxes the ordinary common citizen, that just the way it is and always will be.

Warren Buffet was on the news today talking about how the US economy is better than it's ever been and that our children will live better than we do.
I think he's a little our of touch when he says we.
The super rich and their comments are usually said to impress whoever they are speaking too.
It doesn't necessarily represent what they really think or act on. Whatever they do is usually in their best interests, not for others.

They must think Hillary is going to be the next POTUS.  They know she will sic the Justice Department on them if they support the Republican candidate.  Remember what happened to Bill Gates and the Microsoft anti-trust suit?  It cost him plenty because he didn't give enough $$ to Bill Clintons election fund.  The same thing will happen to Buffet if he doesn't pony up.  Of course, Buffett is probably covering his bet with the Republicans too.

The Income Tax- The Root of All Evil

Read it and weep.

But just remember........

The people of the various provinces are strictly forbidden to have in their possession any swords, short swords, bows, spears, firearms, or other types of arms. The possession of unnecessary implements makes difficult the collection of taxes and dues and tends to foment uprisings.

-- Toyotomi Hideyoshi, Shogun, August 1588

Henceforth, the subjects of the various States are strictly forbidden to have in their possession any swords, short swords, knives, clubs, truncheons, sock & locks, brickbats, sticks, bows, spears, firearms, or other types of arms. The possession of unnecessary implements makes difficult the collection of confiscatory taxes and tends to increase the effectiveness of resistance.  Consequently, failure to turn over such weapons to Federal authorities constitutes a crime against the State, and those duly convicted in the field shall suffer summary execution.

-- Hitlery Clinton, American dictator, January 2009

I think it's because they get detached from reality.  It doesn't matter if you start out as one of the "little people" and work your way up... when you have hundreds of millions or billions of dollars, when money effectively loses andy real meaning for you, it's too easy to drift away into la-la-land.  You start thinking about "how you can make the world a better place".  And that's where most rank and file Socialists come from... your average liberal isn't part of a worldwide plot, but is a well-meaning individual who desperately wants the world to be "fair" and "just", and who can't or doesn't stop to think through their ideology.  And once you're a George Soros or Warren Buffet, nobody is going to tell you that your ideas are insane claptrap that can never work... everyone is always cooing about what an incredible genius you are.

These guys are all around the same age. They were impressionable youngsters in the 1960s, when soviet fifth columnists in colleges around America started to indoctrinate them with marxist ideology. They still have marxism burned in their psyche.

Imagine if a bunch of Hitler Youth came to America after the war. They might act normal and pretend to be "moderates" and denounce nazism but what are they really thinking after all those years of indoctrination?
